::Connecting Back Within Through Yoni/Lingam Steaming and Lower Belly Wraps
We know Yoni as the Sanskrit word for the womb and means ‘sacred space’. This is all encompassing of the reproductive system: physically (regardless if organs are present or not), emotionally and spiritually. The yoni is the inner sanctum, a place to access wisdom, power, creativity, vitality, sexuality and sensuality.
Lingam is the Sanskrit word for penis and translates to "wand of light." The lingam is respected as a channel for sexual energy and pleasure. This is a man’s channel and connection to his own wisdom, power, vitality and sexuality.
I want to share with you about the history and many benefits that can be accessed from yoni/lingam steaming. This has been a catalyst in healing and deepening my connection with my own body. For most of my 20’s, I was on a journey sorting through painful cysts, irregular menstrual cycles and disconnect on physical and emotion levels in my body. Once I discovered the tool of yoni steaming and experienced in for the first time, I knew that life would never be the same.
For the past 5 years, this has been a tool that I access for myself on a monthly basis and it has been a major tool that we integrate in our wellness practice. I have worked with hundreds of clients who have used this for physical, emotional and energetic nourishment and healing in their bodies.
Yoni and Lingam Steaming
The practices of both lingam and yoni steaming have roots tracing back to ancient times in Asia, Africa, Europe, Mexico, Central and South America. Knowledge of indigenous plant medicine was passed down generation by generation.
In an herbal steam session, one sits on a comfortable low stool over steaming warm water infused with customized blend of herbs. This is a natural and non-invasive way of absorbing the volatile oils through the skin directly into the bloodstream, and then around and through the body. The session is a private and relaxing experience where an individual creates the space to tune out from the world, and tune within to the inner sanctuary.
The customized blend of organic herbs is crafted together based on a client’s intake addressing health concerns, symptoms and focus points
A yoni/lingam steam is a very gentle process that does not involve any sort of high-pressure application of hot water or steam. The steam does not enter through the vagina itself, but rather the porous exterior tissues.
Aside from the physical benefits, the yoni/lingam steam can offer healing on the emotional and mental levels.
What to look for when seeking out a yoni/lingam steam session
Since the yoni is the seat of a woman’s soul and the lingam is a man’s channel and connection to his own wisdom, power, vitality and sexuality. This should be regarded in a sacred and respectful approach and it is important to work with a trained professional.
Seek treatment from a practitioner who has undergone a certification to understand the physical, emotional, mental and energetic components of an individual’s body ESPECIALLY the sacred terrain!
I am proud to share that my education encompasses herbal science, nutrition and I have completed both a certified womb training and continued education in this work; along with my own personal healing journey.
How long is a steam?
The herbal infusion is placed into a pot beneath the steam seat. During the session, an individual will sit comfortable on the seat and in the privacy of a quiet room. She/he is dressed comfortably wearing a steam skirt/dress, and wrapped in a blanket to keep the body temperature warm. The steam session will last anywhere from 20-45 minutes. This time is devoted to breathing, meditating, reading, journaling and connecting to one’s self.

Another one of the tools that we offer under our Yoni lLingam Wellness Services is a 'Lower Belly Detox Pack'. This is a combination of castor oil and bentonite clay applied over the lower abdominal area and over the liver (located under the right rib-cage). After the pack is applied, it is covered with infrared heat.
We focus both on the liver and lower abdominal area to support the whole endocrine system. The Thyroid produces T4, and sends T4 to the liver to be converted to T3. When the liver is congested, it cannot process the T4 and then thyroid imbalances can occur.
The liver loves love and attention. It is one of the most forgiving organs in the body. It takes on a big role of filtering and detoxifying everything that the body is exposed to through food, water, personal care products and environmental exposures.
The body produces excess hormones during the different times of the month when a woman is cycling and the liver needs support to keep the filtration system flowing.
Some of the benefits that can be gained from using lower belly detox packs include:
· Supports an increase in circulation and lymphatic drainage
· Supports removal of impurities and heavy metals
· Supports pain relief
· Cleanses and purifies the skin
· Reduce symptoms of PMS
· Soothes and eases congestion in the liver and lower belly
· Supports ovarian health
· Supports fallopian tube health
· Supports uterine health
· Deepens the connection to the body: physically, emotionally and energetically
· Healing to the body after cesarean births (as castor oil can help dissipate scar tissue)
